Intermediate Group Classes

This class is designed for early-intermediate Igbo learners who want to learn to communicate in a free flowing and connected way. Through real conversation practices and whiteboard segments, the teacher explains why something is said in a particular way and turns the learner’s mistakes into opportunities for learning. Special attention is given to reusable sentence structures, natural expressions, practical vocabulary, and grammatical patterns that allow learners to create their own sentences. The goal is to learn how to think, construct sentences, and communicate with increasing effortlessness..

Classes are taught using standard Igbo, with a focus on reusable sentence structure, practical vocabulary, tone, and conversation practices. You’ll be guided step by step to think and express ideas directly in Igbo, building understanding alongside speaking ability.

Lessons are interactive and paced to support learning without overwhelming you.

Each live class is instructor-led and interactive. We would start with a brief conversation, followed by corrections and explanations of our mistakes. Then we would learn some reusable structures, expressions, and vocabulary and practice them together through conversations and real-life situations. At the end, we would review what we learned and receive a small assignment to practice until the next class.

All live classes are recorded. If you miss a session or want to review, you’ll have access to the recordings so you can keep up at your own pace.

Participants receive supportive learning materials, including:

These materials are designed to reinforce what’s taught live and support steady progress.

The course runs for 12 weeks and includes:

• 1 live Zoom class per week (1 hour)
• Guided practice between sessions

By the end of three months, you should be able to: Hold a 10–15 minute conversation about everyday topics. Talk about your daily routines, work, family, interests, and experiences. Tell a story about what happened in the past. Talk about future plans and intentions. Express your opinions and explain why you think something. Ask and answer questions more naturally and spontaneously. Use common Igbo structures, expressions, and connectors without translating every sentence from English. Understand native Igbo more easily in familiar everyday situations. Keep a conversation going even when you don't know every word. Make mistakes without getting stuck and correct yourself more often.
